How long do window treatments last?

This depends on a lot of factors, but if you buy high-quality window treatments and you treat them correctly, there’s no reason they can’t last a lifetime. The key is to make sure you maintain them properly. For example, if you throw your velvet curtains in the washing machine and dryer, you can expect that they won’t last long at all! How do I buy curtains for my strangely sized window?

It’s common for clients to come to us and say something along the lines of, “We have a window that’s too big for one size and too small for the next size up. Which one should we choose?” The good news is that when you shop with Half Price Drapes, we don’t make you choose between two options that don’t work. Instead, we offer custom curtains that are made to specifically fit your space.

How do I cover the windows in a space with minimal décor?

Some clients come to us and love the fact that they’ve decided to choose a very minimal décor style. However, they feel that their windows feel a little bit “naked” or they don’t offer the privacy they want. In this situation, we often recommend cellular shades. When installed, they actually look more like they’re a part of the architecture rather than a piece of décor. They also offer total control over how much light you let in a room at a given time.

What’s best for a first-floor bedroom?

These rooms can be tricky because you have two goals: Provide total privacy when needed but offer natural sun when you want it. We often recommend a top-down, bottom-up product, like Roman shades or cellular shades that allow you to raise them up from the bottom or drop them down from the top. You can get the sun you want without giving up privacy!
