The younger you are, the more likely you are to be bold with your walls

Those who are 35 years old or younger are much more likely to make bold choices with their walls. This refers to both painting their walls a bright color and adding wallpapers to their walls. In fact, just 3% of those 65 years and older used wallpaper in their most recent remodel, while 17% of people under the age of 35 did.

Men and women seem to want different things

Believe it or not, men are more susceptible to trends than women are. One study showed that 25% of men said trends were partially responsible for their decorating choices while only 14% of women said the same thing. According to pros, this is mostly due to the fact that men are making decorating choices with future resale values in mind.

There’s a lot to think about when decorating a home, which is why a surprising number of people hire interior designers. In fact, 1/3rd of people who are thinking about redecorating intend to hire a designer to help with everything, from start to finish, while another 32% said that they are likely to at least consult with an interior designer for a few hours.
