Printed Cotton Roman Shades

Bold pattern on 100% natural cotton — in a clean, structured Roman shade format. HPD Printed Cotton Roman shades display the broadest pattern range in the collection in your exact window dimensions — florals, geometrics, abstracts, and more.

Printed Cotton Roman shades display pattern in a particularly clean way — the flat structure of a Roman shade means the pattern lies flat and undistorted, with no gathering or bunching to break up the design. In custom sizing, the pattern can be sized precisely to your window, ending at a clean point rather than being cut at an arbitrary standard length.

The collection spans the broadest pattern range in the Roman shade catalogue — florals from delicate to oversized botanical, geometric tiles and abstracts, emblem and medallion designs, and stripes. All are printed on 100% cotton twill with a natural matte finish that holds color crisply over time.

Available with privacy and blackout lining options in custom sizes.

What patterns are available in Printed Cotton Roman shades?

The Printed Cotton Roman shade collection covers the broadest pattern range in the HPD catalogue — florals, geometrics, abstracts, emblem designs, medallions, and stripes, all printed on 100% cotton twill. The flat Roman shade format displays patterns cleanly without the distortion that gathered curtain panels introduce.

What style options are available?

All HPD Roman shades are available in both Relaxed and Flat Roman styles. The Relaxed style features soft, casual curves at the bottom when raised — suited to informal fabrics and rooms. The Flat style features crisp, structured horizontal folds — suited to formal rooms and fabrics like velvet and faux silk where drape and sheen are the focus.

How do I measure for a Roman shade?

Roman shades can be ordered for inside or outside mount. Inside mount requires a minimum 2¾" window depth — measure the opening at three points (top, middle, bottom for width; left, centre, right for height) and use the narrowest width and tallest height. HPD makes all necessary deductions in-house. Outside mount: add a minimum of 1½" on each side for width and at least 2–3" above the opening for height. Always measure to the nearest ⅛" using a steel tape measure.

How does the lift mechanism work and is it safe for homes with children?

HPD Roman shades operate with a plastic beaded continuous loop that raises and lowers the shade smoothly through a clutch mechanism. The shade locks at any position. Free-hanging loops pose a strangulation hazard to young children — always secure the loop to the wall using the tension device provided, keep loops out of children's reach, and position furniture away from window coverings. Check that the tension device remains securely fixed to the wall and reinstall if it comes loose.

What rooms and styles suit Printed Cotton Roman shades?

Dining rooms, living rooms, kitchens, and bedrooms where a statement pattern in a clean, structured format is the design anchor. The flat Roman shade format displays the pattern undistorted — particularly valuable for rooms where the window treatment is meant to be noticed. Suits farmhouse, bohemian, transitional, and contemporary interiors.
