Cotton Tie-Up Shades

Natural cotton in a relaxed casual tie-up format. HPD cotton tie-up shades span solid, printed, hand-woven striped, and dune textured collections — privacy lined and unlined. The natural fiber choice for kitchens, dining rooms, and casual rooms.

Cotton tie-up shades have an authenticity that synthetic alternatives don't replicate — the natural matte finish, the soft drape, the way colors look grounded and genuine. In the tie-up format, cotton's natural character is particularly well-expressed: the fabric gathers into relaxed, casual folds when tied, creating a window treatment that looks genuinely handcrafted.

Four distinct cotton collections are available. Solid Cotton offers clean, versatile solid colors in brushed cotton twill. Printed Cotton spans the broadest pattern range — florals, geometrics, abstracts, medallions, and paisleys. Striped Hand Weaved Cotton brings artisanal character through the natural variation of hand-woven fabric. Dune Textured Solid Cotton adds a crosshatch weave texture. Most are privacy lined blocking approximately 60–65% of light.

What cotton tie-up shade styles are available?

Four collections: Solid Cotton (brushed cotton twill in solid colors), Printed Cotton (broad pattern range — florals, geometrics, paisleys, medallions), Striped Hand Weaved Cotton (artisanal hand-woven horizontal stripes), and Dune Textured Cotton (crosshatch weave, unlined). All 100% cotton.

How does a tie-up shade hang and how do I adjust the height?

HPD tie-up shades hang via a 4-inch pole pocket that slides onto a curtain rod up to 1½ inches in diameter — the same installation as a standard rod pocket curtain. Each shade has two 70-inch fabric ties that gather and secure the fabric at your desired height. Tie into a bow or knot at the front or back of the shade to create a casual, relaxed look. To lower the shade, simply untie and smooth the fabric back down. Available in one ready-made size: 46 inches wide by 63 inches long. Sold per shade.

How much light do privacy lined tie-up shades block?

Privacy lined tie-up shades block approximately 60–65% of incoming light — meaningful room darkening and strong daytime privacy. Darker colorways perform toward the higher end of this range. The lining adds body and structure that helps the shade hang and gather more cleanly than an unlined version. For complete darkness, a separate blackout blind behind the shade is recommended.

What rooms suit cotton tie-up shades?

Kitchens, dining rooms, bedrooms, and bathrooms where natural fiber warmth and a relaxed format suit the room's character. Printed cotton is popular for kitchens and dining rooms where pattern adds personality. Suits farmhouse, coastal, bohemian, and transitional interiors.
