HPD tie-up shades hang via a 4-inch pole pocket that slides directly onto your curtain rod — the same installation as a standard rod pocket curtain, requiring no rings, clips, or additional hardware. The rod accommodates poles up to 1½ inches in diameter.

Each shade comes with two 70-inch fabric ties — long fabric strips sewn into the shade that you use to gather and secure the fabric at your desired height. To raise the shade, gather the fabric to the height you want, then tie the fabric ties into a bow or knot at the front or back of the shade. To lower it, simply untie and smooth the fabric back down. The ties can be positioned symmetrically for a balanced, tailored look or asymmetrically for a more relaxed, casual effect.

Tie-up shades are a stationary style — they're not designed for frequent daily raising and lowering the way a Roman shade or roller blind is. They suit windows where a decorative, informal window treatment is the goal, and where the tied position will be kept for extended periods. This tie-up shade is privacy lined — a woven lining layer that blocks approximately 60–65% of incoming light, providing meaningful room darkening and strong daytime privacy. Darker colorways will always perform toward the higher end of this range, while lighter colors allow slightly more light through. The privacy lining also adds a modest amount of insulation and gives the shade more body and structure, helping it hang and gather more cleanly than an unlined shade.

The privacy lining is sufficient for most daytime privacy needs and for reducing afternoon glare in living rooms, dining rooms, and kitchens. For complete darkness in bedrooms or nurseries, a blackout blind or curtain behind this shade would be needed. The shade reads as room darkening rather than fully opaque.

HPD ships within the contiguous United States, including Hawaii. Unfortunately, we do not ship to Alaska, PO Boxes or address with PPO or PRO.

Delivery time varies depending on the types of items in your order and the selected shipping option. Please refer to our Shipping policy for details.

- Ready To Ship Curtains, Metal Hardware, Tie-Up Shades & Home Decor:

Ships Within 2-3 Business Days. Most orders are delivered within 5-8 business days after order purchase.

- Custom items are handcrafted in our overseas workrooms. Shipping time varies by product type:

Custom Curtains & Roman Shades are shipped within 2 - 4 weeks days of placing the order.

These items are delivered within 7-14 business days after shipment. We recommend budgeting in a few more days of delivery time due to global carrier delays during holiday seasons, extreme weather events, etc. Once shipped, you will receive an email with FedEx tracking information. FedEx requires a customer signature as proof of delivery for these orders. Express and Expedited shipping options are not available for Custom items.

- Wooden Hardware:

Our wooden hardware is shipped for free within 7-10 business days after placing the order and is delivered within 4-7 business days from shipment date. These products are only shipped via our Economy (Free) option. Express and Expedited shipping options are not available.

- Swatches:

Swatches are shipped for free via USPS First Class and are delivered within 5 to 8 business days after shipment. The USPS First Class service currently does not provide a package tracking number. We strive to pack and ship your orders within 1-3 business days. Customers can also pay for urgent shipping with Express (1 Day Delivery) or Expedited (2 Days Delivery) shipping options using FedEx.

All orders are processed and shipped Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays. Orders placed on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays will be processed on the next business day.

For Urgent Shipping:

We offer Express - 1 Day Shipping and Expedited - 2 Days Shipping options for Ready Made items and Swatches. Urgent Shipping charges are paid by the customer.

Urgent shipping orders received before 1pm Eastern Time will be shipped the same day for 1 day delivery (Express Shipping) or 2 days delivery (Expedited Shipping). Orders placed after 1:00 pm Eastern Time will be shipped on the next business day. For example, an order placed at 1:30 pm Eastern Time on Friday afternoon will not ship until the following Monday. Please Note: We currently do not offer urgent shipping for Custom Curtains and Roman Shades, Roller Shades, Wooden Hardware.
