New Interior Decorating Trends We’re Keeping an Eye On

Some of the interior decorating trends we’ve seen recently have been quite interesting, while others are just minor changes from what’s been popular for years. Here are a few of the interior decorating trends that we’re going to be keeping our eye on.

Cork board walls

In past years, we’ve seen a trend to pinning pictures and mementos to walls. While this is a great way to create a unique, meaningful mural of sorts, the main problem is that it destroyed walls. This year we’re seeing designers cover an entire wall with an enormous cork board in bedrooms, offices, and other rooms of the house. Then homeowners can pin whatever they’d like without worrying about damage.

Wood and other natural accents

We’ve seen a lot of modern and industrial style furniture and accessories in recent years, but this year we’re seeing a lot of wood accents and other natural materials. From clocks made out of a cross section of a tree, to coat racks made out of small trees, there are some really interesting ways that designers are getting wood involved in their décor.

Black stainless steel

Stainless steel has been all the rage for a good decade now, and this is a trend that makes a lot of sense. After all, it’s easy to clean, stands up to the test of time, and is nice to look at. However, homeowners are getting tired of seeing brushed stainless steel in every kitchen they go in. This is part of the reason that black, matte stainless steel is starting to pop up in kitchens across the country.

Unique front doors

The front door is one of the first things people see when they drive up to a home, yet homeowners often don’t think about what their front door really looks like – but that’s changing. Designers are adding unique front doors that are bold, make a statement, and set the tone for the décor inside.

Bold blues
